Check out the art institute schools in California. there are quite a few located in Orange County, San Francisco, San Diego, etc. They have good culinary programs. Also check out the le cordon bleu schools. A friend of mine actually went to the San Diego culinary institute and said she learned a lot. So, I guess there are a lot of great options in the state.
