To a certain degree. ACF (American Culinary Federation) accredited schools have restaurants run by students, so the students get some experience at line cooking. The CIA in Hyde Park, NY has several restaurants run by students, and these restaurants are pretty busy, so the students get some practice with being quick with orders.
But, you’re going to have some students who won’t learn as quickly as others. Its possible you could complete the CIA program and NOT learn how to be quick with orders. For some cooks, this takes awhile to learn, and they would need to learn it through "on-the-job-experience".
The culinary school I went to didn’t give the students much opprotunities to learn to be quick with orders. So, I would say no, in general, cooking schools do not teach to be quick with orders. They focus more on the fundamentals of cooking technique and how to run a restaurant.
Cooking Schools are designed for people to find an entry level position in a restaurant upon graduation. Line cook jobs are not entry level positions.; whereas prep cook and dishwasher jobs are entry level positions.
By schools I mean college or University, and on a worldwide ranking (not only in a specific region and or country).
Thank you
Some of the Top Culinary Schools in the country include: the culinary institute of america, johnson and wales university and the french culinary institute.
My wife wants me to learn cooking and signed me up for a cooking class. She feels it is time that I should wear the apron in her kitchen. I am scared that I am the only male student there and that the women there will make fun of me. Should I refuse to go.??
i think it’s a great idea.
an apron is so that you don’t mess up your clothes. there’re a lot aprons out there that aren’t "girly/sissy".
if you’re the only guy there, you might just be the most popular student! your wife might get jealous and make you quit then. haha.
but seriously, a man who can cook well is the envy of other men and women.
i’m quite popular with my wife’s colleagues and every so often she gets requests from them for me to cook another batch of tuna pasta salad for their lunchroom.
oh by the way.. the other students might be even more worried about what others think of them.. that’s why they are there, learning..

Hi guys. I’m a sophomore and I”m very interested in cooking. However, I’m not interested in BEING a cook or spending $50 a pop for one cooking class.
Is there such a thing as a cooking school that would start after five p.m three days of the week and you pay by the month for high school students?
An actual school – no
There are a lot of cooking classes though that generally last 1 week – 1 month for a fee, the majority of which take place in the late afternoon, it all depends on where you live. I’m not sure on prices near you, but they generally run 25-150 dollars for the duration.
how long does it usually takes to complete it?
and how much does it cost for an international student?
You might also want to check out the Peterson’s site. Here’s a results list from an advanced search choosing Los Angeles Metropolitan area, culinary and culinary related majors, any degree type:

I have to go to a community college for two years, then I want to get out of this God-forsaken town.
If there are any with a good website, can you please send me a link?
It’s not only that I’m going to try to GO, but I’m doing an assignment at school for it.
Thank you!
Information is below.
I have always had a great fascination with the culinary arts and traveling the world. going to be attending college here in the states majoring in french but my grades from high school aren’t as you would say high honors. What does it take to get into a french cooking school? What are some great Cooking Schools?
Grades are not looked at for culinary schools. All you need is a lot of Euros and to be able to speak the language well. Le Cordon Bleu is the most famous.
I have several choices on Cooking Schools in Tuscany.
Can anyone comment on their experiences or recommend a site that reviews cooking schools ?
Thank you
Sorry cant help you
